The wine region of Cangas produces light, fresh wines or if you prefer, try the local sidre. Oviedo’s airport makes it easy to arrive and visit towns such as Gijon, Ribadesella, Luarca, and Cudillero, or head inland to visit the spectacular Picos de Europa and the picturesque town of Covadonga.
About Galicia

Welcome to Spain’s lush green landscape and the land of Celtic culture. Located in the Northwest of Spain, the capital is Santiago de Comopostela, which is the final destination of the Way of St. James pilgrimage route.

If you love seafood and wine, lush mountains, spectacular cliffs like “los Catedrales” in Lugo, a journey to this hidden jewel is worth the trip. You will start by arriving via air in Vigo or Santiago de Compostela, and from there, we’ll open your eyes to a very different side of Spain.

*This region is also accessible by way of Portugal. Combine your visit to Green Spain with a stop in Porto, Portugal, less than a 2-hour drive from Vigo (Pontevedra).

This wine region is home to the local varietal Mencia, and the vineyards lie along the Camino de Santiago.
